This section is for breeders who Officially register their goats with idgr-san-clemente-island-goat.com. There are many farms who also have their entire or partial herds DNA tested through IGSCR, well. That will be specified.

Lets talk about the three Levels of Registered Herds

ELITE IDGR-Fully Tested Herds

These breeders are at least 90% fully IDGR DNA Parentage tested. Most are 100% tested.
When you DNA test through IDGR-IGSCR, we work hand in hand with UC Davis geneticists. They guide us.
We have have created a very intricate Parentage verificate program, to accomodate the complex situation of the San Clemente Island goat
These herds have chosen to be part of the DNA parentage testing, in order to ensure that you are aquiring the goat that you are purchasing.
Also it is only through the Official Registratino and Fully DNA testing our herds, that the Conservation of the San Clemente Island goat will continue.

These herds are fully Officially Registered with IDGR-IGSCR (usually for years), but not necessarily fully DNA tested. Some of these farms have sent in hair samples for DNA testing, but have not yet DNA tested. With these herds, Elite Status Registrations are a very real possibility.
These herds have year after year Officially registered and continue to keep excellent breeding records.
Official Registrations are vital and key to the Conservation process of the San Clemente Island goat

Standard Registered Herd

These herds are fully Officially Registered with IDGR-IGSCR, but not necessarily fully DNA tested. Some of these farms have sent in hair samples for DNA testing, but have not paid for DNA testing. With those herds, Elite Status Registrations are a very real possibility.
These herds have year after year Officially registered and continue to keep excellent breeding records.
Official Registrations are vital and key to the Conservation process of the San Clemente Island goat
Remember that it takes time for large herds to become fully DNA Verified.
